The only poker tournament in the poker tournament news at the moment for Irish poker players is the Irish Open which starts in a couple of weeks time. The tournament is a €2000 plus €250 entry fee tournament and is sponsored by Paddy Power poker although they are not the only ones offering packages for online poker players to qualify. The action starts on April 18th at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Dublin. This is not a new hotel but is a renamed Burlington Hotel which is where the tournament has been held previously. Paddy Power poker is offering online poker players the chance to win one of two packages worth €3200 every Sunday evening but there are cheaper ways such as the daily tournaments known at Paddy Power poker as the cheap seats. There are eight tournaments run every day for an entry fee of €4.40 with €4 rebuy and add on available with the winners earning an entry ticket to the cheap seats final on a Thursday from which you can win your entry to the main event. This does not include travel and expenses but that is not so much of an issue for Irish online poker players. Ladbrokes poker also has satellite tournaments available for either a full package worth €3200 which includes cash for travel and subsistence or just for the entry fee of €2250. The Poker tournament news is full of this huge event at the moment as it is considered by some to be the highest profile poker tournament in Europe and it certainly attracts the top players and don’t forget that Paddy Power poker is still offering the sole survivor prize of €50,000 for the online poker player who has qualified and is the last to be in the tournament. This is in addition to any prize money that the player may win in the tournament itself.
